Hi Fellow Caledonians & Friends, 

Well it seems like just last week that we had our Federation Chief and Consort, Norma and Patrick Craven on their official visit to the Society.  What a splendid evening that  was thanks to all of you.  We truly have the most amazing talent in the society, we were entertain by Brian who had a touch of flu but no-one would have realised that the way he sang and played, also Sue had us spellbound with the guitar and singing and then of course John Bell, our Provincial Chief added to the fun with his stories and song.  Thank you, it was very special, especially as nothing was organised, just all off the cuff. Linda and I had breakfast with the Fed and Provincial couple on the Sunday morning and they really enjoy the Saturday function and the hospitality of Margaret Matthews at Lavender Lane.

In the meantime the Federations Annual Congress has been held beginning October and new office bearers elected.  Our congratulations extended to our new Federation Chief, Jean Kelly and Consort Andrew Kelly from Johannesburg and also our Provincial Chief and Lady President, Dave and Sandy Brown from Kimberley.  All attending enjoyed the Congress held at Carnival City.  Next years Congress is to be held in Port Elizabeth, so start saving and we can all attend and see the sea at the same time.  Andrew Sked is convening 2010 Congress so it is sure to be a great weekend.

There will be a cover charge of R50.00 for a 3 course meal.  Please bring along whatever you would like to drink, we will supply the glasses and ice. Also, we would appreciate your response to this function by 28^th November if possible.  We are planning a relaxed evening with Toasts to Scotland and St Andrews and South Africa our home, I am sure you will enjoy it so see you all in December.
